About CBPIN

CBPIN was founded in 1994 by the RECA Foundation, BOSS Internet Group, ESD-123, Franklin County Information Services, the Mid-Columbia Library, Northwest Public Television (KTNW), The Tri-Cities Free-Net, and WSU Cooperative Extension.

Jump to 2008.  The Tri-Cities Free-Net (first Free-Net in Washington State) became The Columbia Free-Net as it expanded to serve a larger geographic area in South Central and South East Washington.  CBPIN expanded into new areas such as computer reuse and a non-profit resources provider.  This new CBPIN web site combines the old CBPIN.org and the tcfn.org web sites into one site with a cleaner look and up-to-date content.
