History:
Soroptimist International
of Pasco-Kennewick was chartered August 19, 1948 by Sl-Spokane. On that
date, 10 working women representing a wide array of professions joined
together to foster community service. It was the first women's service
club to be organized in the Tri-Cities.
In 1990, Sl-Pasco-Kennewick
sponsored the chartering of a second club in the Tri-Cities, Sl-Mid-Columbia.
In 2001 SI-Pasco-Kennewick and SI-Mid-Columbia sponsored the chartering
of SI-Hermiston.
Soroptimist International
of Pasco-Kennewick has continued to foster the ideals of service with
