"McDonald's, Disney and UNESCO are pleased to welcome you to "The Power of One: Kids Making A Difference Today ... Inspiring for a Better Tomorrow," a thought-provoking and inspirational symposium presented by the Disney Institute.
We are proud to be a part of this very special Global Children's Summit to honor the 2,000 Millennium Dreamers Ambassadors from around the world. As leaders of creative pursuit and study, young people have always been respected as important contributors to the Disney Institute's World and Community Symposium Series. We welcome their voices today. With nearly 90 countries represented at Walt Disney World Resort this week, we truly see the global spirit of giving, and how these remarkable young people are carrying the torch into the new millennium.
These youths and others like them around the globe are our leaders of tomorrow. Our future is in their hands. How can we keep their spark alive while exciting millions of other young people to follow their lead? That is just one of the questions we hope to answer today.
We'll hear from some of the Millennium Dreamers ambassadors themselves, to learn first-hand the challenges they faced and their outlook on the new millennium. And how, along with experts from a variety of fields, we'll explore how adults can work with young people to encourage greater involvement in their communities and our world.
Over the past several days, you've been introduced to these 2,000 remarkable young people. Now, the Disney Institute wants to introduce you to "The Power of One". "
