Specializing in successful living through computer access and training. Extensive experience in assessing individuals in need of technology access and the Internet. Heavily involved in developing new technology programs to meet the needs of the "have nots" of the community. Instrumental in providing assistive technology to the physically and mentally disabled - especially the sight impaired and physically challenged. Provided web page development  for other non-profit agencies including the local Volunteer Center, several community technology centers, and other health and social service agencies. A world leader in fighting for the "have-nots" of the information age. Bruce McComb and Ronda Evans - Internationally recognized for a number of community networking initiatives including starting twelve Community Technology Centers, a Computer Recycling Program, the Columbia Basin Public Information Network (CBPIN), Adopt-a-Page (supporting other non-profits), Youth Programs, Community Calendars system, Business and Resource Community directories, and an Abilities Center providing assistive technologies for the disabled.

  2. Nominated Bruce McComb as for Computer Learning Foundation 2000 See Computer Learning Foundation yearly awards since 1997.
  3. Nominated Bruce McComb Executive Director and Nickole Evans RECA Foundation Youth for Firestone 100 Who Serve Award - January 2001. Both won.
  4. Nominated Bruce McComb for Sonywonder Technology High-tech Leader of 2000 award. This award is a direct result of the Youth Programs (seen following).
  5. Youth Programs:  Started as a summer youth hire program in 1997 in support of "youth at risk". The program has been expanded beyond the JTPA (Job Training Partnership Act) to include volunteers and year-round programs.
    • Both Nickole and her brother Evan are one of 2000 kids worldwide to receive the Millennium Dreamers Award. These "RECA" kids will travel to Disney World in May, 2000
  6. The Arborwood Family Learning Center also functions as a Non-Profit Resource Center

  8. Columbia Basin Public Information Network (CBPIN): A network of organizations dedicated to providing the widest possible access to the Information Superhighway. Our goal is to ensure everyone has access appropriate to their needs - business, educators, students, children, non-profits, the rich, the poor, the disabled.

  10. Community Technology Centers (CTCs): Beyond public access, community technology building requires Community Technology Centers to assist with the "have-nots" of technology. Some of these folks include the non-English speaking, sight impaired, disabled, low income, struggling families, migrant workers, and seniors citizens.
  11. CBPIN Computer Recycling Center: The RECA Foundation solicits donations of used computer equipment, refurbishes systems, and provides computers to those in need (low income families, disabled, non-profit organizations, and other "have-nots").

POSITION: Senior's Choice Estate Administrator Kennewick, WA April 94 - Current

Los Angeles, CA March 88 - June 89

As a professional senior administrator responsible for seniors needing assistance in housing, nursing, management of finances, estate liquidation and final services. Coordinated services whereby many of the clients were maintained in their own homes, and not transferred to nursing homes. Have worked with seniors in completing over 40 pages of forms to make sure their wishes are honored.

POSITION: El Rancho Vista Administrator Pico Rivera, CA 90660 Dec. 86 - March 88

As Administrator of a 87 bed Long-Term Care Facility, was responsible for the complete management of over 75 staff, budget control, which resulted in 20% increased profit over budgeted projections. Federal and state inspections showed highest level of care, compliance with medical records documentation, procedures and policies. Personnel management maintained a very low turnover rate, with no overtime hours, which decreased staffing costs and increased projected profit.

POSITION: Southern California Presbyterian Homes Manager of Marketing July 82 - May 85 Glendale, CA 91205 Oct. 79 - May 85

At the corporate level, responsible for analysis, design and management of a marketing program for four full-care retirement homes, including one recently constructed facility. Developed a comprehensive program, geared to strategic placement of marketing efforts in the area of community public relations, promotional campaigns and newspaper advertising. As staff liaison to the board, recommended corporate policy in regard to admissions criteria and resident care. Administrator in Training Glendale, CA 91205 March 81 - July 82 Performed all aspects of retirement home and skilled nursing facility administration, through on the job training. Designed programs to carry out Title 22 regulations particularly related to facility sanitation, dietary which resulted in successful annual state inspection. Social Service Director Glendale, CA 91205 Oct. 79 - March 81 Responsible for defining and meeting the psycho/social needs of patients at a skilled nursing facility. Provided support to patients and their families on all aspects of senior living, especially death and dying counseling. Included pre-admission screening, referrals to community resources and discharge planning.

POSITION: California State University Assistant Administrator Los Angeles, CA 90022 Oct. 75 - Oct. 79 Supervised a staff of 15 full-time and 35 part time employees in the start to finish processing of all student aid applications. Developed all office procedures for the implementation of several major financial award programs. This resulted in 90% reduction of overtime hours, and increased awards of 20%, with decreased error rate of 20%.
